Dear Editor:
I have been watching with interest the race for Jefferson County District Attorney, which began when Sue Happ announced her candidacy six months ago. I must admit I’ve been watching Sue Happ for most of her life. I first came to know her when I worked with her father, Duane Quale, a highly respected fellow teacher at Jefferson High School. Sue was also a student of mine and I watched her excel in high school, at UW-Madison and in law school. Ten years ago Sue returned to Jefferson to practice law, starting her own law firm in 2005. Sue is a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, and has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to this community through her volunteer efforts, civic involvement and local law practice. We couldn’t have a better or more qualified candidate than Sue. For anyone who hasn’t noticed, Sue has been endorsed by two current Jefferson County Assistant District Attorneys, former District Attorney Linda Larson, countless local law enforcement officers, two prominent law enforcement unions and countless community leaders. These are the people who have been working with Sue over the last decade and recognize the experience, work ethic, and dedication she will bring to that office. I encourage citizens to vote for Sue Happ on November 4th.
