I write this letter to encourage voters to vote for Susan Happ for District Attorney. I taught with Susan’s father (Duane Quale) and mother (Lois) in the Jefferson School District for many years and got to know Sue's family very well. I can tell you from first hand knowledge that Jefferson was very fortunate to have the Quale family in the community. They don't come any better. Especially, it was my pleasure to have been on the facilty, for thirty years, at Jefferson High School with Sue's dad. If you knew her father, you know exactly what I’m talking about. He was a respected teacher, coach and athletic director, and when he recently passed away, the line of people who came to pay their respects went around the block. He was the kind of person you met once and immediately liked and respected.
I know that Sue's parents, teachers, and friends have taken great pride in her accomplishments: first as an exemplary student, later as they read about her achievements in college and her studies abroad in Moscow, Russia, and finally as a skilled, respected attorney. Even as a young teenager, Sue had qualities that set her apart from others – her tenacity and “never-give-up” attitude were apparent in everything she did – her studies, sports, school activities, and now, her dedication to her law career and community. And like her mom and dad, Sue could’ve gone anywhere to pursue her chosen profession. Instead, she decided to return to Jefferson. For the last ten years, she has been a dedicated advocate for her clients, and there is no doubt she will be a zealous, effective advocate for the citizens of Jefferson County as our District Attorney. Sue has spent the last decade practicing law in our county and working to protect children who are abused and neglected.
Please take a good look at some of the people who publicly support her – two current assistant district attorneys (her opponent’s colleagues) and countless law enforcement officials and community leaders. These are the people who have seen Sue and her opponent in action. These are the people who deal with offenders and victims on a daily basis. These people have chosen to endorse Sue Happ for District Attorney. They know the qualities she will bring to that office and the courtroom. They know that she will get the job done. Trust their judgment and vote for Sue Happ on November 4 th. Wayne Kroll, Hebron |
