Susan Happ For District Attorney

I write this letter in support of Susan Happ for District Attorney. I suppose I should first disclose that Susan is my daughter. I have never been prouder of her than I am now. I have watched Susan put 20 to 30 hours every week into her campaign, while maintaining her law practice and being an amazing mother to her daughter, Haley. I don’t know where she finds the strength and I often refer to her as my “wonder woman”, to her great embarrassment. I recognize that most parents are proud of their children, so don’t just take my word that she will be an aggressive, conscientious, dedicated prosecutor.

Just look at all of the public support of Susan we have seen throughout her campaign. People in law enforcement, the legal community and community leaders throughout the county are supporting Susan because they have observed her legal skills over the last decade and they know she will get the job done. These are people who have seen Susan in the courtroom and know the salient qualities needed in our next District Attorney. So my pride doesn’t come from being her mother. It comes from watching my daughter grow into such a respected, skilled and experienced lawyer that people from such different backgrounds, professions and political affiliations are standing up and supporting the right person for the job.

Susan lost her father, Duane Quale, to cancer three days after she graduated from UW Law School. I still believe that Duane hung on for as long as he did to be able to watch the video of Susan as she walked across that stage to receive her law degree. Duane was so proud of Susan all his life and if he were still alive, I know that he would be proud of Susan now and of all her accomplishments. He would be deeply honored and proud of all of those who have spoken up for Susan and supported her because she is the best candidate for the job. I ask all of the citizens of Jefferson County to do the same and vote for Susan Happ for District Attorney on November 4 th.

Lois Quale
